Tasting Notes
The Franc Arman Teran Barrique 2012 (Vrhunsko: Supreme Quality) is an exceptional vintage.
The 2008 vintage was used in the Master Class at the annual Vina Croatia 2012 event at Delfina London on 6 September 2012 and presented by wine celebrity Joe Wadsack. The event project manager and author of ‘Wines of Croatia – Unique and Exciting’, Saša Špiranec, declared the wine as the “best Teran to have come out of Istria”. This is an incredible wine delivering huge pleasure and a taste experience.<br/ > Produced from only the finest grapes based on controlled cluster selectivity methods, this wine is aged for twelve months in oak “barrique” barrels (215 litres). It has a characteristic ruby-red colour and noble, wild berry aroma tinged with vanilla. The taste is full-bodied, robust and dry. The aging in the small oak barrique barrels give the wine some typical Rioja oak notes, but the Teran grape gives this wine much more character.<br/ > Ideal for partnering with meat and game, prosciutto, cheese and truffle dishes. Can also be enjoyed on its own.
