Kabola Re 2015 Brut Sparkling Wine

Kabola winery is situated in an elevated terraced position on the South West facing side of the Momjan Valley, towards the Adriatic Sea, which can be seen in the distance from the vineyards. This location benefits from dry warm air and therefore there is no need to spray the vines, which supports the maintaining of their EU Organic certified status of the winery. Kabola was the first vineyard in Istria to achieve EKO Organic certification in 2007 and EU Organic Certification in 2014. It is also the region in Istria where the red and grey soils touch each other, which gives the wines a special flavour.

This lively bubbly has an expressive but refined nose with hints of apple, wild raspberry fruit and meadow flowers. It combines the structure and minerality typical of Malvazija with hints of lemon and strawberry from the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the blend. An appealing and classy alternative to more famous sparkling wines, with a real taste of Croatia. A great aperitif or celebration wine.

EU Organic Wine Certification of Croatian WinesKabola Re 2015 is a Brut Sparkling Wine made in the traditional method at the Kabola EU Organic certified estate in the Momjan Valley, very close to the Slovenian border and a few kilometres from the hill top town of Buje in North West Istria.
The wine is made from a blend of single vintage blend of 75% Malvazija Istarska, 12.5% Chardonnay and 12.5 % Pinot Noir.
Kabola Re is distinguished by a yellow colour and is notable for its numerous longlasting pearls (the wine has over 6 bar of pressure in the bottle). Its scent is pleasant, fresh and vivid. The taste has an inviting level of fruit and is longlasting, elegant and harmonious.
