Excellent quality paired with our personal signature

The Benvenuti winery is family owned, passed down through generations and built on traditional values surrounding the terroir. Their story began in 1946 when Peter Benvenuti planted his first vineyard which is still cultivated today. The expansion of the vineyard continued from 2000 when his son, Livio Benvenuti, together with his sons’ Albert and Nikolas, planted new vines. The goal of Benvenuti family was to produce high quality wines and create a recognisable brand from three indigenous Istrian varieties: Istrian Malvasia, Teran, and Muscat. Throughout history, these three varieties gave the best results in Istria. In 2003 in the Benvenuti family received their first gold medal. This year, they celebrate winning double gold award at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) for their Benvenuti Muscat à Petits Grains “San Salvatore” 2011 wine. A truly beautiful wine – named after the vineyard. Today the family own 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards in the village of Kaldir, near to Motovun. The terraced vineyards are located between 250 to 400m above sea level, and at the very heart of the vineyard is the prestigous area of San Salvatore, which is at the highest altitude of 400m. The vineyards share the famous white limestone Istrian soil with its special microclimate, giving each wine a rich aroma and a pronounced minerality and freshness, that truly reflects the quality of the varietals. The annual production of the elegant winery is 72,000 bottles.

“To us, wine has always been inseparable from life. We wish to share some of our passion with you!”
Yours Livio, Albert and Nikola Benvenuti
