Kabola Merlot 2019 (Vrhunsko) is supreme quality EKO organic certified wine from the Momjan Valley, very close to the Slovenian border and a few kilometres from the hill top town of Buje in North West Istria.
This wine is a classic dark fruit Merlot which is very soft and velvety in the mouth.
After a long maceration the wine is aged in the oak barrels for 18 months. Its colour is intense ruby-red with the reflections of purple. Its slightly herbal aroma is reminiscent of sour cherry and blueberry with the interesting balance of fruity and spicy flavours. This wine goes excellently with red meat, truffles, roast, Istrian ham, “Tagliata“ and cheese with a medium structure. It is best served at 18°C.
